Ashby Integration

Connect Telescopic to Ashby to automatically send AI literacy assessments when candidates reach a specific interview stage.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to your Ashby account
  • A Telescopic account with API access

Step 1: Set Up Webhook in Ashby

Webhooks notify Telescopic when candidates move between interview stages.

  1. In Ashby, go to Admin → Integrations → Webhooks
  2. Click Add Webhook
  3. Configure:
    • Name: Telescopic
    • Webhook Type: Candidate Application Changed Stage
    • Request URL:

📋 Get your webhook URL:

Go to your Telescopic DashboardSettings tab → copy the Ashby Webhook URL

  1. Check Enabled
  2. Click Create Webhook

Step 2: Create an Assessment Stage

Add an interview stage that will trigger assessments:

  1. In Ashby, go to a job's Interview Plan
  2. Click Add Stage
  3. Name it Assessment (must match your trigger stage)
  4. Position it where you want candidates to take the assessment

Step 3: Test the Integration

  1. Move a test candidate to your Assessment stage
  2. Check that they receive an email with the assessment link
  3. Complete the assessment
  4. Verify results appear on the candidate's Activity tab in Ashby

Troubleshooting

Webhook not firing

  • Verify the webhook is enabled in Ashby
  • Check the URL includes your correct Company ID
  • Make sure you're moving candidates to the exact trigger stage name

Emails not sending

  • Check that your email domain is verified
  • Verify the candidate has a valid email in Ashby

Results not appearing in Ashby

  • Confirm your Ashby API key has candidates:write permission
  • Check the candidate ID is stored correctly
